Myslef and 3 sons want to get trained. The most adventurous we have been is snorkling in the caribbean but we are now all bored with that and have watched with envy the divers. They are 18,16,14 all strong confident swimmers. Looking for some facilities in Morris county that you can recommend and what type of course/certification is best. We plan to dive occasionaly in the north east and yearly trips somewhere hot.

If you can travel a bit, I'd like to recommend one in Somerset County that can train you guys too... http://www.thescubaconnection.net I can't vouch for Scuba Adventures training since I've never trained there, but I can certainly vouch for the training provided at The Scuba Connection, and it is top notch all the way.

Both shops do their checkout dives at Dutch Springs, PA.

If you plan on doing any Northeast diving, in addition to the basic open water course, I'd add the Advanced Open Water class. If you plan on doing anything other than shore dives, you may want to take drysuit, wreck, and nitrox. The list can go on and on and on......
