I got some new Dive Rite SS cam bands. I'm having a hell of a time getting them on they are pretty stiff. I guess I should wet them right? Also I don't see how you could have 2 cam bands and still have this pony tamer set up correctly. It just seems like I would have to have the bottom cam band on really loose so I can get it past the pony tamer. That would be a pain trying to adjust it on a boat. Any suggestions on configuration?

Jay,

I had the two cam bands on my dive-rite transpac, and it worked fine with my quick tamer pony setup. You need to make sure the height of the bands does not interfere with the height of the tamer on the pony. I think I'm remembering this right, but just in case, set it up, take a pic, and upload it for us to look at. I could be wrong.

I believe I got them on there right now. I'll take a pic and let you check it out. I tried the rig on with tank and pony on and I think the tank maybe a little too high. I can lower the STA but I think I have to poke a hole in the harness to get the bolt through.. Is that common??? I wouldn't want to jeopardize the integrity of the harness.

Speaking of harnesses. I have the hogarthian type and I notice that one side is twisted and kind of digs in to my side. the other side though is fine. I believe that it's just because of the way it has to be threaded through the harness. I did not thread it myself, it came like that from the manufacturer. Is this a normal occurance?

Do NOT poke a hole through the harness to get the bolt through. Don't jeopardize the ingetrity of the harness. Something must be off with the way its setup. As for the harness digging into your side, this is not right. It may be a case of having to rethread the harness or make some adjustments. It should be comfortable.

I'd love to see a pic of the setup uploaded with your next post.

You say not to poke a hole through the webbing for the bolt. How do you do it then? I have a Golem Gear setup and followed instructions on the DSS site https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php ... structions

It doesn't say to put a hole in, but it shows the bolt through the webbing. I used a heated steel rod.

there is usually a grommet in the webbing as it does cover one of the holes. Go to a canvas baot repair place and they will put a grommet on the spot you need it in....it is inexpensive and does the job right....bring your bolt so the grommet is the right diameter!!!!!

This will take care of any issues with webbing fraying or rubbing
