Absolutely, 100%, for sure, positively you need this if you are a diver. If you dive offshore or on vacation, they cover you (depending on which level you are) for things like lost dive gear, stolen dive gear, cancelled trips, medivac evacuations, chamber treatment, doctors visits from dive related injuries, etc....

A medivac from a boat will cost you 10k, chamber treatments are thousands, and so on. You can have coverage for as little as about $100 or so. Why would you NOT have it if you are at least a recreational diver.

I read through the Pamphlet they give when you sign up for the course it seemed like a good thing to invest in. And somewhat reasonable i think it was 80 for a year.

Has anyone ever had to actually use this. Is it one of those things you pay for it and when you need to use it they give you a hard time like a Third Party warranty company?

Some boats may not let you on if you do not have it. I would not take the chance of not having it. I have seen divers take a hit even when they dove the plan. Granted, for a few just breathing O2 for awhile solved thier problem however I know atleast two that had to go to chamber. Good thing they had the DAN insurance or they would have been out a ton of cash.

When you talk about a sport like Diving it's definitely better to have it and not need it than vice versa. unfortunately incidents happen even while training under supervision in good conditions like at Dutch. Definitely a good thing to have.

I thought so to myself but had ask. It seems like a good thing and have not called my insurance yet yo see what they cover and don't but either way for 80.00 and having the for sure coverage its worth it. I was just curious as to if anyone had to use this and when they did, did they have a hard time getting coverage or was it as good and people that stand behind what they sell
