Yeah man I'm pretty psyched!!! Can't wait to get to a real shower.hahaha It's funny how we take those little things for granted. Looking to get some training in when I get home so if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Training...now thats an open ended question. I've been diving for years, and have over 300 dives, but still train. You obviously need AOW for diving offshore in NJ. If you are diving deeper than 60', which you will do here, you will need a redundant air supply. This can be a pony bottle (at LEAST a 19cf), or doubles. Don't waste $ on "spare air". Once you have AOW, get a wreck course, a peak performance buoyancy course, and then just get a bunch of easy wrecks under your belt. Then move on to some more challenging wrecks in deeper water, which may result in your taking a tech course. Drysuit diving is standard here, but not everyone agrees. You can train until your wallet is empty, or you can train enough to make you comfortable and then spend $$$ on actual diving.

change of subject...I saw your picture. You're an MP? What unit? Are you full/active, or activated reserve? Were/are you a police officer before the military? If not, looking for full-time LEO job?

Well I already have AOW and EANx certs. I'll be looking for a pony and a dry suit when I get back. Yeah spare air is a joke I would never spend money on that. I'm looking to take Rescue, wreck, deep, dry suit. I don't know if I'm looking to do any tech courses yet but it's something to think about. Just looking to be more comfortable in the water when I'm with my son, and when I dive the wrecks in Jersey.haha I like underwater hunting. gotta get them lobsters!!

I'm prior Army and now I'm an MP in the Air National Guard. We were activated early this year. I'm work as a Correctional Officer in Union County.

So far it's looking that way cgvmer. I'm in Kuwait right now, we flew in yesterday. It's 0130 on Mon here now, we should be moving to the terminal like around noon and then we just wait forever for our flight. Just the way the military does things. We'll probably finally wind up leaving like at 1-2am Tues, but we are traveling backwards in time so we will get there on the same day we leave.LOL crazy.
