Welcome to the club Jesse. You could teach all of us "hearing" scuba divers to sign. That would be real nice to communicate better underwater. I am heading to Dutch this Sat. All are welcome to join in!

Hi Folks!

Been diving here for about 15+ years. Loving it. Now whole family dives, 2 boys and a wife. Oldest Son works @ a local dive shop. Really "living the dream"! Been meeting LOTS of great people, too! So Hello to all!

Nice to see new members. Where does your son work? My daughter works at Lehigh Valley Dive (right around the corner from Dutch Springs) and absolutely loves it. I sure wish I could work in a dive shop, lol.

He works over @ Lakeland Divers in East Hanover. I have to convince the owners to extend a "FAMILY" discount, not just employee! LOL. I know the shop in Bethlehem. Pass it each time I go to Dutch! Nice shop!

Welcome southJerseydiver,
Lots of knowledgeable divers here so any dive related questions you may have feel free. My son is 15 and is certified so he'll be getting out there this summer for some dives. Dive safe

Jay

Welcome to the forum SouthJerseyDiver.

My son is 14, and he too is certified. Althought he needs a little more training at Dutch before I take him off Jersey, I look forward to getting him down to an offshore wreck. Its nice to see someone as young as you diving with the old farts like me. Although I've never been off the Tuna Seazure, I've dove many of the boats in central and northern NJ.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them. Make sure to post all of your trip reports!!

Mike

I now live in Central Virginia after first learning to Dive in NJ and was one of "Spiders" students while in Point Pleasant NJ. Then moved down to Key West and worked a dive boat as a Divemaster looking to become an instructor but everybody down there is an instructor. Then went into Sportfishing for the income was much better in the Keys. Still get up to NJ to dive with the 1st aid Rescue Dive team when I can. The water in the Key's is much better vis but the diving in NJ is more of a challenge and better use of skills...

Rightside,

Welcome to the forum. I dove the Keys a few years ago and had a great time. The only problem was that the dive operation would cancel dives too easily as compared to New Jersey. My brother lives in Richmond, and I remember that there is a dive quarry about an hour south of him not too far off 95. Have you ever bee there? How is it compared to Dutch?

Drop a line if you're ever up in NJ to do some diving. I'd like to make it out and dive with Spider one of these days.

We've had a slew of new members join recently, and we're finally approaching 100 members. How about if the newly joined members take a minute to introduce yourself and let everyone else know a little about you. What kind of diving do you do? Where do you dive? Whats your favorite shop? Say hello!

Regards,
Mike
