Danny who!! What storm! Day turned out pretty good for the dive team. We checked out the inlet and found it looking good. Standing on the sea wall we dropped a shell into the water and watched it go almost to the bottom. So it was time to dive!!
Oh! but it's raining. Hey we're divers we get wet all the time.
We had a pretty good group with us today, I had a student who was finishing up his open water and tommy lee from from north jersey who never did the inlet before. We hit the water about 1600hrs and was it nice 10+ vis, water temps around 75. Only one thing, this inlet can't tell time. The tide was still running.
My student and I made it half way up the inlet and were doing pretty good picking up sinkers and feeding the fish. But I got the sign for low on air and it was time to turn around. The tide still had not started to go out yet so it was a speedy drift dive back to the exit.
Others in the group reported the vis dropped off alittle farer out. Tommy lee, eric p. and brandon c. were the bottom time winners on this one, with 83 minutes down.
As the last of us were getting out of the water the tide was just starting to go out. But all in all it was a good day!!
