As you can see, the portal and forum look very different. I actually wish it stayed the same, but I had zero control over it. The "host" is freeforums, and they upgraded all of their forums to the new bulletin board (version 3) over a period of time. Ours held out the longest. It will take some time to get used to, but I do see some advantages with this new version. The "portal" page can be customized, allowing you to install games (arcade), and it has other stuff I haven't figured out yet. Please take some time to become familiar with it, and don't get frustrated (like I did). They say that change is good, so lets give this a try.

Thanks!

Mike

Well, the new look of the portal sucked. I tried to customize it to make it look like the old version, but no luck. I'll keep playing with it and see what I can do. In the mean time, I've bypassed it, so you won't be seeing it anytime soon. All you will see is the actual board forum.

If anyone is up on how to customize the Phpbb3 from freeforums, and have ideas, let me know.

Thanks.

In the mean time, I'm still working on the portal to see if I can clean it up. Once I do that, it may make its way back, but time will tell.

Steve,

I'm waiting for a reply from the support. I looked for this topic in the help section and found squat, so I sent them an email with the issue. We'll see what happens. Oddly enough, when I click on a topic, I start at the top. It may be one of the settings that you can control from your user page.

Also, I put the portal back up but made some changes. Tell me what you think?

It will take some getting used to...

Hey....bottom left of the portal page! See the arcade games? See if you can beat my score at asteroids.

Mike

The reply I got was in the form of a question. I'll just paste what they asked and you can let me know.

Does he click the topic title when he goes to the topic?

Yea. For instance I go into NJ Dive Website section and i would click on New Forum which would put me in here. instead of starting at the top of the page and scrolling through what people have said it starts me at the bottom of the last post. I have switched every setting i could think of.

Here is the answer I got...

"Re: Forum opens topic at bottom instead of top
This normally happens when you click on the "Last Post Icon" from a topic, e.g. on this Support Forum the "play button" behind the username on the right. Otherwise if you just click the Topic Title you should end up at the very first post at the top. So have another chat with him.
"

This is from one of the support staff members who has been with this board from the beginning. I don't know what else to say. I know that a time or two, I've been sent to the last entry of a forum and had to scroll my way back to the top, and it is frustrating. So far, I haven't seen this happen here until now.

Mike
