Hey mike,
Question...Ok so I picked up a pony bottle from Divers Supply. My question is since I'm diving with a pony with its own reg and spg, do I still need a separate octo on my primary reg? Thanks for the input

Jay,

You will get my answer, and probably someone elses later who disagrees. When I was diving singles, I had my primary reg, my octo. reg and my pony reg. So, yes, I dove like the setup you just suggested. A few people may tell you that two regulators is fine, and they aren't wrong, but my belief is that more is better in this case. There is little, if any, inconvienience to having the third reg on your setup. Primary in your mouth, octo attached to your BCD, and your pony around your neck on a necklace. Thats my answer, but like I said, you will probably find others who will disagree and give their reason (which may be just as logical). My opinion is to keep all three on. When you go to doubles, you will have two regs. One in your mouth and one on a necklace, but in the mean time, dive three.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Thanks Mike, I was thinking the same thing. When I dive Florida which is 3 or 4 times during the summer (weather and money permitting) I don't use a Pony so I'd like to keep an octo on my primary reg.

Hey, are you DM'ing that intro to tech class at TSC??

No, I'm not DM'ing it, I'm actually taking the class. However, my schedule was just changed, and now I'm back on patrol as an acting Sergeant for a few months, rotating shifts and all. The new schedule I took over may not permit me to take the class. I'll let you know.

Congrats..other than the rotating shifts..That's great! Hopefully you will get acting sgt. money..haha I'm still waiting on the DOP to send me a test date for our Sgt test. I missed it while I was in Iraq.

Well I don't know what my schedule is looking like at the moment. I report to Mcguire AFB tomorrow and should find out more. I know we are working 12 hr shifts I just don't know what shift I'll wind up on and what the days off look like.
