This forum hasn't had a single post, so I'll be the first.

The Scuba Connection is giving an Intro to Tech course soon. The academic and pool session is Sunday, April 13th, starting at 9:30 am. The open water class is Saturday, May 10th at Dutch. Anyone else interested? Call them at 908-359-1250. Their website is here: The Scuba Connection

Hey Mike, I'm interested in that class. I'm going back on Active Duty orders on Wed. so I guess once I see what my schedule looks like I'll give them a call. I'm already AOW and Nitrox, is there any other requirement?? Thanks

Jay,

The class deals with diving doubles, using stage bottles, valve drills, extending bottom time, etc... I know you are still diving single bottles, so this may be a real good class for you if you can get a set of doubles (or you can rent them for the class). It would be really cool to have you in the class.

Yeah I think it would be a pretty good idea to take it and training is always good. I'll have to see If I can work around my schedule. I'll find out more on Wed. I have to report to McGuire Air Force Base in the am. I'll probably rent tanks initially if need be. I can also look around and see if someone is making room for some new gear. Anyway I'll let you know how my schedule is....Are you teaching the class??

Jay,

I just got my new schedule for the remainder of the year, and I'm screwed. This class (both days) is when I'm working nights the night before and the day (night) of training. There is no way in hell I can do this. I will have to see if TSC can accomodate my new schedule, and possibly change (or add) the dates for the classes.

Mike, I was supposed to get my schedule today but in good ole military fashion, I got the hurry up and wait...maybe tomorrow. I'll probably be on mids which will probably screw me for the class as well depending on what day it being held. We shall see.

Well I just got the call from the training dept. I'm working midnights 12 hr shifts 6p to 6a...I'm working what they call a panama schedule. (Off) - Fri Sat Sun (work) - Mon Tue (Off) - Wed Thur (Work) Fri Sat Sun..... I guess I won't be able to take the class unless TSC is willing to work with me when I'm off. I start on Monday so I'll be off this weekend.

I have the exact same schedule, except its 6:30 to 6:30. AM to PM for two weeks, and them PM to AM for two weeks. Same days on and off like yours.

Mike, maybe TSC can work something out for us on our days off since we both want to take the class?

Jay,
TSC said they can accomodate our schedule issues. I was going to see if they can do 4/23 or 4/23 & 5/20 & 5/21. I'll let you know.

Update: Pool and Academics on 4/15 at 3:00 pm / Dutch on 5/18

Hey Mike, I doubled checked last night and I'm definitely off on the 15th of April, May 18th is a no go though. I can't take off that day. Maybe before the 18th or it would have to be after the 31st. Schedule is just too crazy.
