Dredged this keel spike up on the Tuna Seizure with skinny John. That trip was awesome. Great work by the staff to get both the dreadge ready as well as helping others gear up. It was quite chopy out there too. They call the site the Copper Wreck. They have been tring to identify it for a while now. They believe it is from late 1800's or early 1900's I think. The solid Brass or bronze (I am not sure which) nail was hand forged and hammered into shape. Imagine having to make a thousand of these. Note that the head is angled to the shape of the hull.
