I've seen a few sites with DIY's for rigging your own stage bottle. I plan on doing this when I get my 40cf soon. Of all the DIY's I've seen, this one is by far the best one. Here is the link: http://dir-diver.com/en/equipment/stagebottle_rigging.html

If you have a better one, lets see it. I'm game.

Are you going to be droping the bottle at the line?

No. Absolutely not. I've seen it done by others, some who were carrying two (leaving one at the line), and others who left their only one at the line. I look at it as a safety net. If I need to breath off of this tank, I don't want it 80' away or 40' higher than I am. It is so not an issue slung underneath my arm that its almost like its not there. If someone else want to leave theirs at the line, I'm fine with that, but I want mine with me.

A few years back, I also helped out a solo diver on the Stolt, who did leave her bottle by the anchor. She had a real hard time clipping it on her rig for the ride up, and she had a look of panic on her face. I helped her clip it on, and off she went. I've never forgotten that.

Whats you take on this?

Clipping it back on is the reason why I asked. I sometimes leave them behind depending on how well I know the wreck. Pratice before you need it is key. I rig mine alttle different for taking them off and putting them back on easly.

I had to cut it short, my kids were screaming. I used to rig mine fairly close to the way you are. It was fine and I was able to get it on and off. But if something happens and the anchor line is no longer the plan it could be a problem.
