Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forum. There are lots of wrecks to spearfish from. In fact, I'd say that you can spearfish from just about any wreck or rockpile in NJ. Some days, they are loaded, while other days its not so good for whatever reason. If my mind serves me correctly, the dive shop on LBI closed. You'll have to find charter or private boats that are heading out to do your spearfishing, unless you are doing shore dives.

That sounds like a great time. I'm sure if you talk to some fishing boat Captains, some may actually give you numbers for rock piles or unmarked smaller wrecks. Just make sure there is somebody on the boat while you dive that is capable of operating all the equipment if there is an emergency.

Good hunting!

Hey madgaffer16, Welcome!!
Sorry, I didn't see this thread sooner.
The Gulf Trade was hit by a torpedo. It was broke in two. The bow sank, and the stern drifted.
Here is some info. on the wreck: http://njscuba.net/sites/site_gulf_trade.html
