Hi guys, I am a fisherman gone diver this year and am just joining this board. I am new to this whole diving thing and have just started diving some of the wrecks I have been fishing for years. A few weeks ago I went out and dove the anastasia and on the way home roughly a mile or so from the anastasia I found a new wreck/snag. Does anyone know what wreck this could possibly be. I have been trying to get out and dive it ever since but weather hasnt worked in my favor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Doug

Doug,

If you give me the numbers, I'll ask a boat Captain I know and see if it is a known wreck.

Welcome to the board!

Hey Doug, welcome to the board!
The wreck of the Anastasia I believe is at 73.8781 W, 39.9463 N. Just west approx. a mile, give or take, is the wreck of the Emerald at 73.9135 W, 39.9474 N.
Hope that helps!
frank

Thanks alot guys,
That sounds like the wreck I am talking about. I will check the numbers when I go down to the boat and get my book. Its funny how spots I have fished for years and never cared what they were now suddenly got me staying up all night thinking about what it could be.
Thanks again,
Doug

What's even nicer is that when you are diving on the wreck, you can pick and choose which fish to take. You're like.....hmmm....I think I'll take you. When your on the boat, fishing, you take whichever fish picks your bait.

Doug,
Like Mike said, there's plenty of food. And, if you like artifacts, the Emerald has them. It's kinda like being in a underwater Super Wal-Mart. :D
